In partial modification to Para 2.1(c) of Board's letter No.97/H/28/1 dated 17.5.99, it has been decided that all employees who retired under the Contributory Provident Fund Scheme and for whom ex-gratia payments have been approved on the basis of the recommendations of the Vth Central Pay Commission may be permitted to join RELHS-97 Scheme. The contribution for such retirees for joining RELHS-97 will be twice the ex-gratia monthly payment. This will be applicable to the widows of the Contributory Provident Fund Scheme optees also. The last date for such retirees and their widows will be 30.6.2001. This may be given wide publicity.
