Travel facilities for Indian Railway personnel over Konkan Railway on duty

Rail travel facilities to Indian Railway personnel over Konkan Railway on Privilege Pass/PTO have already been issued vide Board’s letter of even number dated 11.09.1999 (S. No. 50). Ministry of Railways, in consultation with KRC Limited have now decided to allow travel over Konkan Railway on duty by Indian Railway personnel as under:

(i)                          Train staff on through trains of KRS and IR will be allowed to travel on each other’s jurisdiction as per the links, on duty passes.

(ii)                       The staff of (a) Mumbai Division(Central Railway), (b) Palghat Division (Southern Railway), (c) Hubli Division (South Central Railway), (d) Zonal Headquarters of Central, Southern and South Central Railways and (e) Railway Board shall be issued duty passes over KRC jurisdiction only with the prior approval of their controlling officers (not below the rank of JA Grade). Reciprocally, the staff of KRC be allowed duty passes with the approval of their controlling officers (not below the rank of JA Grade) for visiting the above destinations.

(iii)                    Officers of (a) Mumbai Division(Central Railway), (b) Palghat Division (Southern Railway), (c) Hubli Division (South Central Railway) (d) Zonal Headquarters of Central, Southern and South Central Railways and (e) Railway Board shall take prior approval of their controlling officers (not below the rank of SA Grade) for journeys to KRC on duty. Reciprocally, the officers of KRC shall take prior approval their controlling officers (not below the rank of SA Grade) for journeys to on duty to the above destinations.

(iv)                     IR officers and staff other than those referred to in sub-para (i) to (iii) above shall take prior approval of their PHODs/AGM for journeys to KRC on duty.  Reciprocally KRC officers and staff shall obtain prior approval for journeys on IR on duty for destinations other than those referred to in sub-paras (ii) & (iii) above from officer not below PHOD rank.

(v)                        No such restriction will apply to IR officers and staff travelling on duty from and to one zone of IR to another zone of IR across KRC.

(vi)                     Proper record will be kept of duty card passes both by KRC and the concerned Railways for a period of six months to create a data base for review of the system after six months.
