Upto which level/post  a person with JE (Information Technology) can reach through regular or  departmental promotion. and what is time gap of next promotion with Grade Pay.

JE(IT) will work in Divisional offices of Railways. He has to work in Software used in Railway office - maintenance and some data entry work. Promotion depends varies from Railway to Railways. You get get SSE grade in 4-7 years after that it is very difficult to get promotion.

Hello sir

I am a graduate B.Tech(E.C.E)

I have much interest to do job railway sector.

normally when will railways release notifications?

and for which posts i am eligible ?

In blogs i have seen that first join in railways then you can write departmental exams.

How would i know about departmental exams in railways

could you suggest me......

please reply me as early as possible...

Thank you sir!!!

Since you are Engineering graduate in ECE, you are eligible for the post of Senior Section Engineer in Signal & Telecommunication Department in Railways. You have to regularly visit the web sites of various Railway Recruitment Boards of Indian Railways for notifications. Normally notification will be issued in the month of February of every year. Departmental examinations are conducted to give promotions to railway employees in the department. Apart from recruitment through RRBs, you can apply for All India Engineering Services Examination for Group A Officers post which is conducted by Union Public Service Commission, New Delhi. You may see UPSC web site for details.

Hello sir

could you suggest me Shall I apply for Helper-ii post or not?

because i am thinking that if i get as helper-ii i am able to write departmental exams?

So if i got helper-ii post which group exam i am able to write either group c or group b?

Thank you Sir....

dear sir,

if i got selected for assistant loco pilot, then can i apply for junior engineer post (i am diploma in engineering) without breaking bond with railway, or i have to pay penalty for applying for other posts?

and secondly, can i write departmental exams, while working as assistant loco pilot in first year of training?

thanks and regards.

Candidate who is selected to the post of ALP through RRB have to execute a bond stating that in case he quits Railway service within 5 years from the date of appointment he will repay the entire amount of training cost to Railway Administration. Candidate selected as ALP and working as such can also apply for JE post (Direct Recruitment Quota only) through proper channel/producing no abjection certificate from competent authority. In case he gets selected, he will be relieved to carry out his new appointment , The service rendered as ALP is counted as qualifying service for all benefits.
