Reimbursement of tuition fee etc in respect of a disabled child (with 40% or more of disability ) of a railway employee is granted, till such a disabled child attains the age of 22 years ONLY. But, in the case of ATLEAST mentally handicapped/autistic children, schooling/special educational needs etc. including transportation to such schools is a life-long process to enable them to mix with the society at large. The Federations/Unions should take up the matter with 7th PC so that the upper age limit of 22 years is removed in such cases. FURTHER, the matter may also be taken up with the Government through JCM and the Government will be kind enough to consider such deserving matter.
