If an employee gets promotion to the same grade pay involving assumption of higher responsibilities, between the 2nd january of the year to the 30 june of the year, how to fix the pay? Since, the individual will be in the same grade pay before and after the promotion -
a) whether the individual will get an increment for the promotion on the date of promotion with date of next increment on the 1st of july of the same year? or
b) Whether the individual will have to opt for fixation from the date of next increment getting two increments from that july, and change of grade pay only on the date of promotion?
eg:- Mr. 'A' currently working as Mastercraftsman (MCM) in the pay band of Rs.9300-34800 + Grade pay Rs.4200 gets promoted to the post of Chargeman (CM) carrying higher responsibilities in the PB-2: Rs.9300-34800 + GP 4200 on 1/4/13. Prior to 6th CPC pay fixation was allowed on promotion from MCM to CM.
consequent upon issue of Min of Finance order No.10/02/2011-E.III/A dated 7/1/13, whether the individual is eligible to get his pay fixed as per the a) above or he can go for the option b) only.
kindly clarify.
